Al Wofford Receives U.S. SBA Entrepreneur AWARD

4/17/2008 - Al Wofford, president and chief executive officer of CDO Technologies and VT Design Solutions, received a Small Business Administration ""Champions of Success"" SBA Entrepreneurial Success Award on April 17 at the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center in Mason, Ohio.

Awards were presented to 12 Ohio business owners at the event organized by the U.S. Small Business Administration's Cincinnati and Columbus branch offices.

Mr. Wofford was recognized for his entrepreneurial activity with CDO Technologies and Valu-Tech, Inc., now known as VT Design Solutions.

Mr. Wofford is very involved in various Dayton-area civic and community groups and organizations, including the Commission on Minority Inclusion (The Dayton Foundation); Strategic Financial Study Committee for the City of Dayton; Wright-Patterson 2010 BRAC Team; Greater Dayton IT Alliance; and Dayton Engineering Science Foundation.


P&G Nominates VT Design Solutions for Centers of Excellence Program

4/14/2008 - The Procter and Gamble Company has nominated VT Design Solutions for the National Minority Supplier Development Council's (NMSDC) Centers of Excellence program.

The National Minority Supplier Development Council, one of the country's leading business membership organizations, provides a direct link between corporate America and minority-owned businesses. It was chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes.

Its Centers of Excellence program seeks to enhance successful business relationships between corporations and MBEs by strengthening corporate minority supplier development processes.

The NMSDC Network includes a national office in New York and 39 Regional Councils across the country. There are 3,500 corporate members throughout the network, including most Fortune 500 companies. Its regional councils certify and match more than 15,000 minority-owned businesses with member corporations which want to purchase goods and services.

Six regional councils nationwide participate in the NMSDC Centers of Excellence program. NMSDC Centers of Excellence provide a structured environment for fostering minority business development. They are a forum for defining issues, gathering data on industry best practices, and establishing tools and processes to engage minority businesses.


VT Design Solutions, Architect Firm Announce Partnership

7/30/2007 - VT Design Solutions, Inc. and Fosdick and Hilmer, Inc. have formed a Joint Venture (VT-FH Engineering Solutions, LLC). This joint venture combines the talents of both a minority and a majority engineering firm. VT-FH offices are in Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, and the firm is certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB).

VT-FH provides full-service M/E/P engineering services to clients such as the Health Alliance, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and Messer Construction. The two firms began working together in 2002 on various Healthcare and Utility projects.

VT-FH has access to over 85 professional and highly skilled engineers. The staff provides engineering management, project management and related services to a growing list of clients engaged in the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.


VT Design Solutions Conducts Argosy Casino Expansion Commissioning

6/1/2007 - VT Design Solutions is conducting the building systems commissioning under the general contractor team for the Argosy Casino Expansion Project taking place in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

The commissioning project supports construction in plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical systems. Commissioning for this project utilizes industry standards and accepted processes for evaluating the installation and functional performance of building systems.

VT Design Solutions is also performing construction management processes to effectively plan and control safety, schedule, and construction costs.
